A Technical talk on Ready Mix Concrete / Special Concretes & Cracks in Buildings was organised by the Civil Engineering Students' Association - NIRMAN along with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mangalore Centre, on 28 March 2018 at 11:00 am in Bishop Aloysius Paul Hall.
Er Sudhir Shetty, Director, IRC Concrete mix India PVT. LTD Mangaluru and Er Ekanath Andakeri, Structural Engineer, Sigma Consultants, Mangaluru were the resource persons. Er Sudhir Shetty delivered his presentation on the topic Ready Mix Concrete / Special Concretes . He explained the manufacturing process and transportation of ready mix concrete to the construction sites. He also explained about the usage of special concretes names thermal concrete, lightweight concrete, self-compacting concrete and temperature controlled concretes.
Er Ekanath Dandakeri delivered his talk on Cracks in Buildings. He discussed about the various causes and effects of cracks in buildings. He also mentioned about the different types of cracks appearing in the structures.
Faculty members and students of III Semester were present. The session concluded with an interaction with the students followed by Vote of Thanks.
