In the present day context women’s safety is of great conce. Hence all women should be aware of self defence techniques. To enlighten on this subject “Jagruthi-prevention of sexual assault committee of SJEC organized Swaraksha for Women- A self defence programme for the female students of SJEC on September 20, 2018 from 3.15pm to 5.00pm in the Kalam Auditorium. Martial Arts Champion Mr Karthik S Kateel was the resource person of the programme. Ms Sharvya, student of final year B.E-ECE introduced the guest to the gathering. Director SJEC, Rev Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza florally welcomed the guest Mr Karthik S Kateel and his mother Mrs Shobhalatha. In his session he mentioned about difference between good touch and bad touch, women psychology, consequences of uploading the photos on social networking sites etc. He taught some self defence techniques to prevent the advances of opponent when one finds themselves in danger. At the end of the session the resource person was honoured with the memento and letter of appreciation. The session was appreciated by all the female students of SJEC.
