Jagurthi: Talk on "Women's Health and Nutrition for Women"

 

On account of Women's Day Celebration March 2020, Jagruti Prevention of Sexual Assault Committee organized a talk on "Women's Health and Nutrition for Women by Dr Rashmi D'Souza Rasquinha, MBBS, DLO, DNHE, DNS, Consultant ENT Surgeon, Falnir Polyclinic, Senses 3 Clinic, Nutrition Therapist, KMC Women & Child Unit, Mangaluru, RxDx Samanvay, Bengaluru, Copartner, cast-a-weigh. The talk was attended by the interested students of all departments on 13.03.2020 from 2.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at Prerana Hall, Ground floor, AB-III.

The talk began with the MC, Ms Ramya M, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, introducing the resource person and welcoming the gathering. Dr Rashmi D'Souza Rasquinha addressed the students elaborately on the following aspects for a healthy lifestyle: hydration, consumption of fresh food, avoiding food with preservatives, healthy eating and sleeping habits, effects of storing food in plastic containers, need for regular walking and exercise. She also interacted with the students on the effects of over exercising, using gadgets before sleeping, consuming excessive sugar, and effects of continuous sleeplessness. Dr Rasquinha also stressed on the importance of remembering five things every moing that we are grateful for in our lives and how it effects our feelings of contentment and in tu our health.

Ms Aaryashree, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, felicitated Dr Rasquinha.

The session ended with a question and answer session followed by the vote of thanks.
