A virtual talk on Menstrual Health and Hygiene was conducted by Jagruti-Prevention of sexual assault committee, St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC). The session was addressed by the resource person from the Globalhunt Foundation, Ms Roshnie Bowmick, an eminent speaker who is an Unicharm CSR executive. She had conducted 90+ talks on Menstrual health of female and hygiene for zero profit. The talk was addressed to 1 st year female students of SJEC. The entire program was coordinated by Assistant professor Mr Prasad and Ms Vishikha Keshava.
Ms Roshnie Bowmick had been connected by Zoom call and she created awareness among all the ladies present in the gathering. The students assembled ten minutes prior to the talk and maintained social distance as per the Covid-19 guidelines. Speaker spoke about some crucial aspects related to menstruation and to maintain hygiene during menstrual cycle. She gave information regarding different stages of period's right from Menarche to Meno Pause. The talk was very effective, as it gave more importance to how to tackle with Menstrual cycle, What are different sanitary napkins available and also gave insights about how to use them.
At the end, the feedback was collected from the students about the talk and program ended in 1 hour. Students were delighted when speaker said Menstruation is not a Taboo any more. The entire session was interactive one and technical support team had done the great job in making Virtual Talk a successful one.
