Guest Talk on Corporate Readiness for Emerging Professionals

The Student Welfare Group, in association with the Department of Business Administration, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, organized a guest talk on "Corporate Readiness for Emerging Professionals" for the 2nd Semester MBA students on 24 June 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Prerana Hall, AB III. The session was delivered by Mr. Michael Andrade, Director, Lykora Consulting Services, Mangaluru.

The objective of the session was to prepare MBA students for the evolving corporate environment by equipping them with the essential skills, professional attitudes, and competencies expected by employers. Mr. Andrade shared valuable insights into the current recruitment landscape and highlighted the importance of resume writing, effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership qualities for career success.

During the interactive session, the resource person emphasized the significance of building a strong professional profile, maintaining ethical standards, developing emotional intelligence, and demonstrating confidence during interviews and workplace interactions. He also discussed common expectations of recruiters, workplace etiquette, and strategies for enhancing employability in today's competitive job market. Students actively participated by asking questions related to career planning, interview preparation, and corporate culture.

The session proved to be highly informative and motivational, enabling students to gain a better understanding of corporate expectations and the skills required to transition successfully from academia to the professional world. The talk encouraged students to focus on holistic personality development and lifelong learning to enhance their career prospects.

The programme was coordinated by Ms. Acharya Chitralekha J, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, and Ms. Preetha Aroza, Campus Counsellor, whose efforts contributed to the successful organization of the event.
