The Department of Business Administration, St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, organized an insightful session "Marketing Unfiltered" for the first-year MBA students on 12 June 2026. The speaker was Mr. Rayan Christ Dsouza, Founder and Managing Director of Christ X Marketing, a corporate strategy and data-driven digital marketing agency based in Udupi. He was accompanied by members of CXM's Content Team – Brandshots, comprising of Mr. Jimson D'Cunha, Ms. Kavyashree, and Mr. Franclin D'Souza.
Mr. Rayan Christ D’Souza emphasised the significance of social media marketing and content creation, highlighting that advertisements are an art of selling within a few seconds. He discussed how content influences people and demonstrated the corporate approach to positioning services effectively in the market.
He elaborated on the various career opportunities available in digital marketing and introduced students to corporate agency roles. The speaker also differentiated between mainstream agencies and corporate agencies on aspects such as organizational structure, processes and systems, hierarchy, long-term vision, employee development, and data-driven decision-making. Through real world examples he illustrated the distinction between marketing and sales, and how marketing creates desire and builds brand perception, while sales convert that desire into action.
The session also offered valuable insights into entrepreneurship and startup culture. Students were introduced to the functioning of Christ X Marketing, its work culture, brand principles, leadership practices, campaign strategies, value systems, and scaling processes. The interactive nature of the session kept the participants actively engaged and inspired them to think beyond classroom learning.
Mr. Rayan Christ D’Souza advised the students on putting maximum effort to every task by focusing on continuous learning, skill development, and creating meaningful impact. He encouraged students to cultivate qualities of hard work, discipline, patience, all-round skill development, knowledge, and social responsibility to succeed as professionals and entrepreneurs.
The programme concluded with an interactive feedback session, where students shared their key takeaways from the event. Overall, the session was highly informative and motivating, equipping the MBA students with a practical understanding of modern marketing practices, career prospects in the digital landscape, and the mindset required to excel in the corporate world.
