The Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Discipline and Equity Group of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), organized a talk on “Constitutional Values” for the B.E. students on 25th September 2025.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Pushparaj K., Assistant Professor, SDM Law College, Mangaluru, who addressed the gathering with insightful perspectives. He highlighted the importance of the Constitution in shaping and safeguarding a nation. Mr. Pushparaj also provided a comparative overview of the value systems of different countries, enabling students to appreciate the uniqueness of India’s constitutional framework.
Further, he elaborated on the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, explaining in detail the concepts of Sovereignty, Socialism, Secularism, Democracy, Republic, and other guiding principles, supported by relevant examples. His address offered students a deeper understanding of the values enshrined in the Constitution and their significance in nation-building.
The session began with Mr. Nandan, Assistant Professor, introducing the resource person. Ms. Prajwala Preema D’Souza, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker and participants. The program was coordinated by Ms. K. Manjula, Assistant Professor, MBA Department.
The talk served as a valuable learning experience for the students, instilling in them an appreciation for constitutional principles and their role in upholding equity, justice, and democracy.
